Raybin Acquisition Brings Expanded Service to NYC Non-profits

With Marts & Lundy’s acquisition of Raybin Associates this month, the clients of both firms will benefit from the blending of the talent and experience of two well-established consulting practices. 

Although similar in philosophy to Marts & Lundy, the smaller New York firm offers a background and a “set of skills that complement and expand on Marts & Lundy’s work,” said Nancy Raybin, former managing partner of Raybin Associates and now senior consultant and principal with Marts & Lundy.

Rajen Kilachand, a Dubai-based global entrepreneur, has pledged $25 million to support the Honors College, whose full name will become the Arvind and Chandan Nandlal Kilachand Honors College in honor of his parents. Kilachand (GSM’74) is a member of the University’s Board of Trustees.

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - Propelled in part by an anonymous $27 million gift - the largest in the university's history - Rutgers raised a record $137.4 million in private donations during the 2010-11 academic year, the Rutgers University Foundation announced today.

More than 90 percent of the year's fundraising will support academic programs and other initiatives that directly benefit students, said Rutgers University President Richard L. McCormick.

Science grant will help University of Utah research cutting-edge materials

The University of Utah may be stepping to the forefront in researching new materials used in the next generation of computers, communication devices, microscopes and solar cells, thanks to a grant from the National Science Foundation.

University officials announced Wednesday that it was been awarded a $12 million NSF Materials Research and Science and Engineering Center grant. The U. joins Yale, Columbia, Cornell, Northwestern and Michigan universities in the latest round of materials research grants.

MICDS announces $21.5 million gift

Administrators at Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School said today they plan to build an advanced science and math facility with a $21.5 million donation, the largest in the school's history.

MICDS, an independent college preparatory school in Ladue, announced the gift this morning from the James McDonnell family.

The gift also is the second largest to a grade or high school in the region, behind a $28 million donation in November 2009 to Chaminade College Prep.

Kathleen A. Hanson, Senior Consultant and Principal, has been named leader of Marts & Lundy’s Schools Practice Group, replacing Daniel R. Boyer who will be assuming new management responsibilities as the firm’s Director of Client Relations.

Kathy first joined Marts & Lundy as Of Counsel in the Schools Practice Group bringing nearly 20 years of experience at independent schools. In 2008 she joined the firm full-time as a Senior Consultant.

Daniel R. Boyer Named Director of Client Relations

Daniel Boyer, Senior Consultant and Principal, has been named the new Director of Client Relations for Marts & Lundy taking over the responsibilities previously handled by Richard T. Jolly who retires in August. Dan will also join the firm’s management team.

Dan joined Marts & Lundy in 2000 bringing with him twenty-five years of experience in independent schools and higher education.
