David A. Gibb

Professional Experience

David Gibb directs his own consulting firm, Practicable Marketing, providing marketing and communications counsel to law and accounting firms, healthcare organizations, academic institutions and nonprofits since 1991. He works in Planning -- the formulation of strategic communications audits and marketing plans; Management -- the creation, direction and administration of marketing functions; Implementation -- the execution of business development and marketing projects; and Writing -- the composition and editing of communications marketing materials.

Prior to opening his consulting firm, Gibb was Director of Marketing at Buchalter, Nemer, Fields & Younger, a 190-lawyer, Los Angeles-based law firm. Previously he served as Director of Communications for the Western Region of Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst & Young); was an Account Supervisor for the PR firm of Hill and Knowlton in Chicago; and was Administrator of Communications and Public Relations and then Ad-ministrator of Video and Audio Programming for Young Presidents' Organization (YPO) in New York. Gibb received a B.A. from the University of Virginia and studied French in the doctoral program at Yale University.

Gibb serves as president of The Opera Buffs Inc, a 501(c)(3) California corporation that furthers the career development of promising young opera singers in Southern California by means of grants and perform-ance opportunity. He is also on the board of Long Beach Opera, for which he provides marketing counsel.
