E. Burr Gibson

Professional Experience

Burr joined Marts & Lundy in 1964 and his career with the firm has taken him from resident campaign management to strategic development planning at its highest levels. Burr has been an inspiration and mentor to everyone on our staff and to thousands of not-for-profit fundraisers, both professionals and volunteers.

In July of 2008, Burr was honored with the prestigious CASE Lifetime Achievement Award, “which honors an individual whose professional accomplishments have made a significant and lasting impact on the field of institutional advancement, and whose life and character have earned the respect and admiration of their professional colleagues.”

Undoubtedly one of the foremost leaders in philanthropic consulting, he has also been a leader of the firm; as a vice president in 1970; executive vice president and treasurer in 1978; president and chief executive officer in 1979; chairman and chief executive officer in 1982 and executive chairman from 1991-present.
