Professional Experience
Scott joined Marts & Lundy as a senior consultant in 2001 following more than two decades in advancement. Along with his advancement counsel practice in education and healthcare, Scott works in our Analytical Solutions group and provides specialized counsel on prospect management, systems, and e-philanthropy.
Prior to joining Marts & Lundy, Scott founded Institutional Memory, Inc. and developed GiftedMemory® to help organizations build productive relationships with their constituents. Before he also served as director of development at Case Western Reserve University School of Law and director of major gifts for The Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
Scott was a featured speaker at the 2007 and 2005 AFP International Conference and the CASE Major Gift Solicitation conferences, He has served as chair of the CASE Conference on Annual Giving 1991-1992, and was a member of that faculty from 1981-1992. Scott also served as a faculty member for the CASE Conference on Capital Campaigns. He also served as track dean for an AFP International conference and he has been an active speaker at CASE/NAIS and HEERA/CASE conferences. He co-authored the chapter "Information Systems, Managing the Database" in the Jossey-Bass Capital Campaigns series of New Directions for Philanthropic Fundraising.Scott also co-founded two AFP chapters and served on the AFP National Board of Directors.
