Jefferson K. Porter rose swiftly in the University of Michigan development office. He started as director of life sciences development in 1999 and was quickly promoted to senior director for corporate and foundation relations in 2000. Jefferson became assistant vice president for development in 2003.
He now serves as a Marts & Lundy affiliate in the higher education practice group.
As associate vice president for development at the University of Michigan, Jefferson is member of the senior management team implementing the school's $2.5 billion "Michigan Difference Campaign." Jefferson also manages an individual giving staff for the Southeastern Michigan Region and for the Chicago Region (two largest markets) on an interim basis for 18 months.
Jefferson earned a political science and journalism degree from Indiana University in 1986. He is an avid biker, swimmer and runner.
