AFP Fundraising Day in New York City
New York, NY | June 8, 2012

Nancy Raybin, senior consultant and principal with Marts & Lundy, will be moderating a panel discussion: To Launch or Not to Launch: Is Now the Time for a Capital Campaign? Panel participants include: John Ford, chair, Marts & Lundy; Sister Angele Arbib, O.S.B. Abbey of Regina Laudis; and Tara Morris, vice president of development, Friends of the High Line. This panel of two leading consultants and two senior development officers will provide perspectives on critical issues in planning a campaign in 2012:

  • What makes this philanthropic market different from 5 years ago?  What does that say about your case for support?  And, how you can take full advantage of the current financial environment?
  • How large is your goal? What does the pyramid look like? And, over what time period?
  • Which components are most attractive to donors today—capital, endowment, current income, deferred?  And, how can you match your pressing needs to these trends?
  • Who should lead your campaign?  What is the CEO’s role?  How do you use celebrities?  And, how do you build a strong Board and staff team?
  • What else must you know to determine if you should launch or wait some more…
